I have always loved glass, but it was only after my retirement from a career in education and public sector consultancy that I was able to devote myself fully to learning. I took three diploma courses then set up my own studio at home in North London. I continue to learn through masterclasses with glassmakers who I admire.
Much of my work relates to the wild countryside and coastlines of north east and south west England. I collect driftwood, stones, shells and other natural materials which I use as starting points for the form and surface texture of the pieces.
